The Great Allentown Comic Convention was an interesting, fun experience. I didn’t sell squat, but that’s ok, these are hard times, and getting someone to part with their hard-earned money for an indie comicbook is going to take some serious marketing, some patience, and some practice I’m not worried about it. This was my first convention where I actually had a table, and I considered it more of a classroom experience than a lucrative one.
As always, I met great people, made contacts, put comics in the hands of people I felt would enjoy them, and spread the word of the wonders of Quark Time. If that brings more readers, I’m ahead. I made some friends, and got a drawing lesson. I consider the trip a win. (My mother always taught me not to talk to strange men. Humbug! Talking to strange men gets me most excellent drawing lessons! *GRIN*)
I ended the trip in massive pain, barely able to move, but that’s sort of par for the course with my neck, so oh well. I’m home, I’m in my comfy chair (The comfy chair! Eeek!), and as promised, here is this week’s post, the artwork for Issue #3’s cover. (All cover art is subject to change.) I consider it a personal triumph that I got home from a convention AND got the update done.
Well, I’m about to fall over, so here’s the update. More later.
I’d tell her to play nice, but — ya know — she might not take that too kindly. (Grin.)
